Who We Are
PHIX is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit funded by El Paso health leaders in 2010 to improve health through collaboration and data technology. PHIX is based in El Paso, TX and serves providers and patients in west Texas and southern New Mexico. PHIX facilitates data sharing between hospitals, emergency departments, clinics, public health, laboratories, imaging centers, other health providers and social service organizations. This data sharing is supported by health information exchange technology.
Through our clinical viewer, providers can review their patients’ records from across the PHIX network. Having access to medical records securely and electronically at the point of care drives value by improving outcomes, reducing readmissions, and reducing repeat imaging, labs, and diagnostic procedures.
Our approach to data sharing is unique. We leverage local programmers to support custom integrations with each partner. This approach enables PHIX to connect with a wide variety of partners – large and small. This flexibility also enables PHIX to connect with all types of health care partners as well as organizations providing social services.
Health care is local, and PHIX is focused on integrating and leveraging data to solve local challenges. PHIX is positioned to respond quickly to local needs because we utilize local programmers. As a result, PHIX has not only been integral to the COVID19 response in El Paso, but we also continue to develop new and innovative services based on feedback from our partners.
